READ THE BOOK. There's nothing wrong with how you are approaching women as long as it's you that making the effort. There are specific rules to approaching women but they aren't written in stone. Some of the most successful guys that use the One-Minute Approach also aren't shy about finding ways to create approaching moments with women. Supermarkets: A simple puzzled look and an open question about an ingredient that you've picked up, "Is this better boiled or baked?" In a non-confrontational place such as a grocery mart open questions are great ice-breakers and allow for you to ask for a phone number to tell the woman later how your meal turned out. Sure, you'll need to be prepared with a shopping list and an idea of what you're cooking but everyone has to eat, right? Standing in a line up somewhere is an excellent place to approach women that are standing close to you. Using an open comment starting with "I'd rather be.... than here right now" can easily be an opening remark to planning to get together somewhere for coffee after the line up duties are completed. Get her phone number, her email address and even suggest to go somewhere right now for a warm coffee or a cool drink, depending on the current weather. Don't miss these, and other, small opportunities to start some small talk that leads to a conversation that can lead to a phone number, an email address and maybe even a get-to-know-you-date right then and there. There are women everywhere and your motivation is to make these small moments count. You won't come across as a "pick-up artist", just a guy that has at least this one common thing with her, in a non-threatening way. (Note: these are the guys that are described by women to have no hidden agenda.) Once you've worked on simple approaches in uncommon pick-up places you'll be amazed at how your confidence boosts when you're around women. No longer will you be intimidated because you actually do have something to say to a woman that doesn't include "Can I buy you a drink?" or some other such pick-up line. When you get past the anticipated of the "painful rejection" state of mind you'll find yourself free to pursue small talk and conversations with women anywhere. Don't let your fear of embarrassing rejection scare you away from your real goal here: Building confidence while in the company of women. Remember, you'll always feel worse if you didn't make the best of the opportunity in front of you than you will if she turns you down. Feel your fear and approach her anyways!
