Ask Rob! The
Advice General
Rob, what's up man...
Either as a girlfriend or just to talk to her again... help me
out...with some romantic ways... I hope that you've thought this through. I mean deeply considered why you cheated on her and what has changed that you now want her back. First off, if she's seeing someone else, I wouldn't go forward with trying to be her friend anymore. Leave her alone to heal and maybe, if you run into her in a few months, you can casually ask her to join you in a cup of coffee to catch up on what's been happening since you were last together. Then let things proceed naturally from there. Now then, if you do want to contact her, you need to do this carefully. Send some flowers with a card that says simply "I miss you". Don't sign your name. Let it be a secret between the two of you. If possible, send the flowers to her workplace, so it is seen by others and maybe provides a conversation point for her to discuss you with her coworkers in a positive way. Another way is to send her a romantic greeting card that remembers the anniversary of something you did together. The first time you went to dinner, a movie, a walk, whatever. She may react in a positive way to your romantic remembrances of when you were together. A third way is to date other women. Play the jealousy angle. Let her now that you're dating and having fun. Maybe she isn't and will "run into you" to spark things up again. Your first contacts may be well received or they may make her mad. If she is nice to you, go slow and see where this goes. If she's still angry with you, leave it at that. You tried. You failed. Remember, you screwed up first, don't become a lonely-hearted stalker now. Best wishes,
