Dear RG,
I mistakenly left my personal email open at work with very risqué photos
posted in some messages and a woman from work helped herself to reading
them. She gossiped about what she read to God only knows who. I found out
the next morning that she did this. This happened last weekend by a
co-worker on a different shift from mine.
How long have you known this person? about 1.5 - 2 years
Do you have the same friends? We have the same acquaintances.
Does the person work and where or other details about him/her? Yes, this is a coworker. She recently had a baby and I consider a nosy hick. She not only got into my personal business, but has also gotten into the personal business of some customers just because she knew them.
What personal information do you know about this person such as work address/phone number, home address/phone number, their relatives info, their neighbors info, etc.,? I have her work address/ phone and her home phone.
What do YOU think would be suitable revenge and why? I thought about just ignoring the whole thing, but there are at least 7 coworkers that I know of that know what happened, and I think that she may have gossiped to at least 2 others. I'd like to start a nasty rumor about her that may or may not be true, but would make her squirm.
I dread going into work now because of this because I really don't
know who knows what and she needs to be taught a lesson about
gossiping.
Hi,
First off... what the hell!
Leaving personal business open at work is a big NO NO. But I am sure
you now know the reason why.
Have you considered bringing her behavior to your boss's attention? I am sure there must be some reasonable employment rules that this person has been violating.
At any rate, consider this:
Write a letter, from an anonymous email address, to all employees
but her, stating in the company official voice, how this woman is
soon to lose her job.
I'm sure you can write something like that.
In the letter include such statements as "a monkey may be hired to do her job" and how "the company will not be offering her a reference" should she seek employment elsewhere.
This is what you do:
Make sure that all other employees are in on this, at least the ones
that have also been violated, and that they leave the email open for
her to see.
Again, send it from an anonymous email account and only to the personal accounts of others, not their business email.
And have a laugh with me at her!
Best wishes, RG
