Michael W: A letter came in today that reminded me of how important it is for me to clarify what the real meaning of "don't kiss up" to women means. In this letter, a young man several times had the woman of his dreams so close, she was into him, and each time he did all the wrong things, and it really hurt to read it all as it all went down in flames.
So, the key point where he went wrong, is in his perception of what it means to "not kiss up to women".
The truth is that "don't kiss up" has nothing to do with being a hard-ass or cruel, etc. In fact, it's quite the opposite.
To illustrate the point, the best picture I can give is for you to imagine how a person who is absolutely and completely addicted to a certain drug and who knows only one person who can provide that drug, imagine how this person would feel about that one and only person who has the drug.
He would totally DO ANYTHING for that person. He would sell his own soul.
And without that person, he would feel like he is doing WORSE than DYING.
Now, when a guy meets a woman that he feels strong attraction for, the feelings are really not all that different than the guy who is addicted in the example above.
The woman becomes the guy's "PUSHER". He becomes her ADDICT.
Now, let me ask you a question:
Do you think that a drug dealer feels that the need of the addict is somehow an INTIMATE connection? An intimate meaningful relationship?
I know you already know the answer to that. And similarly, this is exactly how a woman feels when a guy is addicted to her in this extreme way. The addiction is not an intimate connection at all. It's very LACKING in feelings of genuine connection.
And the reality is that when you make ANYTHING in life into your NECESSARY DRUG, it's not a healthy thing. It's not even good for you even if you DID get that thing that you were addicted to.
