Today is the day after Friday night. It was a very cold night, full of howling wind and blowing snow.
The drive home, late at night, was a struggle of man and machine against the worst this time of year the weather brings to my mountain home.
I was pushed across the road, cut off and blinded by approaching drivers, idiots, with their highbeams on and seemingly wandering into my lane.
And if it wasn’t for my extremely loud truck horn I would have killed that deer that stood in my path, she was lost and looking for escape from certain death. She lunged for the ditch at the last possible moment, saving me hours of cleanup and insurance form filling.
Which leads me to my moment of relaxation: finding “North By Northwest” on TV.
If there is a movie that can calm my nerves and provide the tense, spirited “losing myself in a movie” movie, then this is it.
