I have IT guys to deal with, a new phone system that doesn’t let you dial out and a whole whack of “whack-a-mole” issues that keep popping up so that I’d much rather relive last week, and the total sickness that I had, than deal with this stuff today.

Does a thunderstorm bring on a bad day?
I’m going to enjoy today, no matter what happens.
I have some work scheduled to be completed in the house I just moved to, there’s a new leak discovered in the roof, courtesy a very loud afternoon thunderstorm that has scared our smaller dog so badly she still won’t come out from under the bed (wimpy dogs suck!), and my new 100Mbps router’s wireless function won’t work, no matter what I do (SMCD3GN from Shaw) so I’ve got to return it tomorrow for a simple cable modem and get my own router. This way the wife can complain and the router not working and it’s my fault, instead of complaining about the router’s wireless not working and it’s some nameless guy working for a big careless corporation, which never get’s old, let me tell you…
But that really is just the beginning of my Monday woes, I’m sure. But I’m hopeful that I’m wrong…
It will have to be a short work day, with all the opening of doors, exchanging routers, buying routers and waiting for the carpenter to arrive sometime Monday.
Thank goodness I have understanding bosses (yes, I have more than just “Boss Wife” to watch over my work).

I love the Internet.
Here I am writing a new dating profile headline tip and example for you while I wait for my cable technical assistance chat service representative to respond to “Hi”. If this is what they call “personal online assistance” then I miss the point.
Because I’m waiting… not on hold listening to crappy canned music at least, because I can still watch a football game and write this “personal assistance for writing online dating profile headlines” to you all at the same time.
I do have to wonder if I’m even chatting with a real person. With the advances of computer interactive technology only “they” know who/what is on the other end of my chat. Maybe just a sophisticated chat computer, and cheap too because it doesn’t need voice recognition technology either, it just has to read what I type and send an appropriate response.
Scary… like George Orwell’s 1984 but in the present, not some weird and wonderful past/future.
