Normally I’d TGIF all over this post, you know that if you’ve been here on any previous Friday.
But today I am back at work after the past 4 days of being sick. You’d think that any sickness that kept you off work Monday to Thursday would be nice enough to hang around for a few extra hours and maintain the status quo of one more day off… but no, I’m not that lucky.
I did have some fun, maybe a little too much, at a website called IAmHappyForYou.com, the rudest magic 8 ball game ever online, maybe. If you ask I’d have to say I was there just to see the answers.
Otherwise I am happy and well, thank you. I hope you are too.
This weekend brings us within 7 weeks or so of Christmas. This means your plans have to start being made and any travel arrangements researched so you get the best price. if you’re shopping early for gifts I’d like a new Dodge 1500 truck, but I’m not really hoping too much. Maybe just a new frying pan will suffice.
I’d like to think that the coming season brings us happiness and wealth but the reality is that unless you work hard for happiness and wealth they just won’t happen.
Happiness is not only a state of mind it’s also a matter of health. And of your personal outlook on life. When you look towards nirvana you have hope for a better life and you reach towards it not only as a goal but as a roadmap for your life.
And wealth? You can buy all the lottery tickets you want, and leave wealth to chance, or you can build your own stack of one dollar bills one week or month at a time, and celebrate having some money when you really do have some money.
What does all of this have to do with dating? Everything. When you are happy you will infect others with happiness. When you have a few extra dollars your stress levels will decline and you’ll have even more happiness.
When you take that step to join an online dating service you are showing that you are ready for happiness and that you have wealth, even if it’s the wealth of spirit.

A bit of a late start today, one of my dogs decided that during the night while I slept was a great time to throw up. In several different rooms.
So, of course, being in a semi-awake state when I got up this morning I found myself washing my feet off, and fully awake, just a couple of minutes later. Ugh.

Today will be called “Try Harder Tuesday” because I want you to totally re-word your online dating profile and ad a new photo of yourself.
If you’re going to get dates your profile picture and your personal ad is your first impression… and if it hasn’t been working well for you to-date then it’s time to do something drastic and that is to start over.
Am I right? Yes, I am, thank you for agreeing with me.
First off, your profile. Take out any pictures of you and friends in them, you aren’t introducing someone else to this unknown person reading your profile, are you?
While you’re at it, any paragraph that has someone else’s name in it, and it isn’t a movie star or the President of the USA’s name, delete those too.
Now you’re ready to rewrite your profile and the things you should concentrate on talking about is “a day in the life” of yourself. What get’s you through the day, what events have you encountered that caused you to act a specific way that shows of your charity, your determination.
That’s what should be in your profile.
And while you’re at it, a new headline won’t hurt either. So let’s refresh the old one with this new one:
“I am in the race of my life, trying to catch up to you.”

I hope you had a good Halloween weekend.
I expect to hear soon from all the “candy conspiracy buffs” explaining loudly how the candy makers have us all by the balls, during a rather predictable “candy gifting” calendar and the lack of reasonable gifts under $20.00 for people you just don’t give a damn about any more.
That being said, I’d also like to offer a chocolaty thank you to all the kids that didn’t appear at my door last night so I now have a reasonable stash of mini candy bars for a while.
Next on the calendar is Thanksgiving, Black Friday and then, of course, Christmas. Of course don’t forget that winter will be mixed in which also means that next Sunday clocks fall back and we’ll get an hour of extra sleep on payment of sunset at 4:30 and earlier until the winter solstice on December 21. Now the extra hour sleep is one thing I like about fall.
Wow that’s a lot of info for one post (feel free to read a couple of times and maybe email to a friend or two too).
So let’s skip ahead to today’s dating profile headline:
