Yesterday I wrote about taking the beginning use of online dating slowly, using baby steps to get to a comfortable place with your online dating adventure. Today I’m going to ask you a question: During your prime dating efforts (be it last weekend, last year or last decade, you get the idea…) how many social places would you go to in a week or month to meet someone to date? More than two places would be my guess. It’s OK, you don’t have to answer my question out loud.

A lot of people that begin using online dating services put all of their efforts into one dating service. Can you guess what I’d say about that? It’s OK, you don’t have to, I’m going to tell you.

Join your first online dating service and get comfortable with browsing the online personals. Send out a few smiles, winks and introduction hello’s to the people that catch your interest. Reply to a few that you receive too.

But don’t put all of your eggs in one basket.

That is, don’t hang all of your hopes of finding a date (or The One) at any one single dating service. You want to have a fair knowledge of the types of dating services that are available as well as the likelihood of meeting someone that is “your type” at any dating service before you join. Good thing for you I’ve reviewed hundreds of dating services to make your time (and money) spent as a member that much better.
