Friday’s Conversation Topics
This week is almost officially done! Thank goodness, I really need a break and a beer, in that order. I do not have “tiger blood” in my veins so I need to rest and relax in mortal ways. And, of course, communicate with people in an understandable language not necessarily of my choice. Although I feel great about myself others may not categorize myself as a “winner’. Sorry, I just had to get that out…lol… Anyways, here are this weeek’s most interesting news topics that you can read and later freely converse about. I’ll try my best to have no Charlie Sheen in any of them, I’ll try.
- Want to win your funeral costs? Sure you do, so if you’re German you have a contest to enter. A German local radio station is offering a competition prize much closer to home than an exotic holiday or tickets for a celebrity concert. That’s right, all expense paid funeral. Geesh…
- Kate Middleton flipping jacks. With photos. What a way to spend Shrove Tuesday. Maybe that’s why the wedding is scheduled for when it is, Kate can beg off of rich food for Lent instead of calling it a diet. Did they announce yet who the lucky dress-maker is? (Yes, Sarah Burton.) The dress is red…. hmmm…
- Woman offers sex to get out of speeding ticket. She get’s arrested for bribery and the target of a bizarre police report. It’s all caught on the cop’s traffic cam. She said she’d do “anything” in place of the $191.00 ticket.
- Don’t pee on an airplane anymore… that is, in the lavoratory. There’s no oxygen mask in that little cublicle so if you’re in there doing your business when a hole appears in the airplane (or something similar) and they have to rapidly descend, you won’t have an oxygen mask to wear resulting in lung trauma or death. Thanks FAA, flying isn’t scary enough already.
Who Has Seen You?: Match.com March Marathon
This is the tenth day of our Match.com March Marathon. We’ve taken a good look at the online dating service Match.com and a lot of the features that are offered there.

Who Has Seen Your Profile?
An interesting feature is this one that allows you to see who has visited your profile page called “Who’s Viewed Me”.
Now, this feature is sometimes offered free at online dating services but you do need to be a subscriber here. One way or another notifications that tell you who has visited your profile page is used as an incventive foir you to pay a membership fee, so Match.com isn’t out in left field asking you to pay for this priviledge and, of course, you receive all of the other premium member benefits too.
So if your curiosity is about to kill the cat, pay the fee and see who’s behind door number 1, 2 and maybe even 3.
Join here now and receive a 7 day free trial membership; this offer is only for new members only.
Winning: Dating Profile Headline of the Day
Thursday
I dunno, I kind of like the “bowling shirts” even if Charlie Sheen says he’s glad he’s never going to have to wear another one in his life. There’s a long, rambling interview with Charlie Sheen below. Have a laugh, watch past the ad.
Right, Charlie Sheen for President (or whatever?)?

Charlie Sheen 2012
I know, I know, this is clearly going over my mandate for writing headlines you can use for your online dating personal ad. But I’m not sorry, I’m Winning! (Just couldn’t resist the entendre.)
But, here it is for real, the headline I suggest you use today to attract a great person, or more, to have dates with. Post this:
“I am not a Winning Warlock but rather a nice person I hope you want to meet.”
Have a great day!
matchTalk: Match.com March Marathon
In this part of our Match.com March Marathon we’re going to take a closer look at a feature that is only available if you subscribe for it: matchTalk.
Match.com describes their matchTalk.com service like this:
Talk, but keep your phone number confidential with matchTalk. Along with our many subscriber benefits, you can now accept matchTalk requests absolutely free. Get these subscriber benefits:
• Send and receive emails
• See who’s viewed your profile
• Manage your connections
• Flirt instantly via Instant Messaging

matchTalk
What this feature is, in a nutshell, is anonymous phone calling. Your number and any other caller ID information is not passed along when you make a call to another member. You are given a special number to dial into using your regular (land-line or cell) phone from which you call the other member in your matchTalk phonebook.
Your private information is hidden by the system and it’s easy to stop someone from contacting you, all you have to do is remove their details from your matchTalk phonebook.
Anonymous phone calling services have been around for years and now come in a variety of formats and feature-sets. matchTalk used to be a fee-based service but now it’s available for free as an added feature to the premium subscriber membership.
Join now and receive a 7 day free trial membership because this feature is only for premium (subscribed) members.
Hump Day’s Motivational Picture
Not to pounce on Charlie Sheen but…. he started it!
BTW: Good old Charlie really is “Winning”, his residual payments for the “Two and a Half Men” show in syndication could earn him about $100 million dollars more. Maybe he won’t stop at three goddesses?
Love in Your Life: Dating Profile Headline of the Day
Wednesday
Do you wander through life waiting for an angel to drop on your shoulder and make life more exciting for you?
Or do you seek adventure do you make things happen in your life that gives your existence meaning?
Will you walk off this old soil and enter Valhalla knowing you have lived a life of enrichment and be rewarded for your service to those around you and those you love?
Do you have love in your life?
These are tough questions that we all will face at one point in our lives, whether at a time of inward reflection or a time of crisis. I can’t help you with any of the answers but I can help to point you in the direction of the knowledge you seek; you can only make this discovery on your own, no one can make it for you.
Do you rely too much on the advice of others for the direction your life takes? Can others be trusted to be looking out for your own best interests?
When you begin to answer the questions above you begin to take stock of the importance of direction and people in your life. Many people reading this blog will not answer the questions because they are not yet ready to admit to themselves that they will not live forever. It is often hard to admit that are lifetimes are finite.
Do you have love in your life that will sustain you?
At times of personal reflection I believe that my 12 years of this website have been put to good use. I am certain that there have been many thousands of people that have made dramatic chnages to their lives because of their use of the information I have written over the years. Will you also take a part of the knowledge here with you to improve your lot in life? I believe that you will, if only a very small part.
For your dating ad headline today let’s not be too hard on those that will cross it, but let’s be plain in our language of attraction:
“There is just one thing missing from my happy life: You.”
Have a great day!

Sunny Spring Days: Dating Profile Headline of the Day

Sunny Spring Days
Welcome to another day. I hope yours is bright and sunny, as I am planning with the weathermen around the world to make this happen. It might be Wednesday or Thursday (I’m not sure) but our day of sunshine will be soon, trust me!
Will you be ready when it happens? When the call of the warmth of the sun is finally brought to us and the undeniable pull of needing to be outside, for a walk, wash the winter’s grime off the car, any of your ritualistic activities you do on the first “feeling it” day of spring.
I’m ready, I have a new car that just wants to be washed every day… I hope you will give this spring day a thought or two and b eprepared.
It’s happening soon.
And this brings us to today’s headline, I hope you like my suggestion:
“I am ready for the first spring-like day, will you be with me?”
Have a great day!
Search Formats: Match.com March Marathon
Day 7 of our Match March Marathon and we’re going to take a look at the member search options you’ll be using.
Section 1
This is the basic search area usually prepopulated with the last search you did or your preference settings from your profile. Click “Search Now” and start browsing the results. As well, with this particular search feature there are some customizing you can do to the results, such as the appearance, interests, background/values, life style and optional keyword choices. What sems to be a simple search becomes an advanced search that very few other dating services could offer thier members.
Section 2
This area of search (found under “Section 1″) offers three additional search options: Mutual Match (You’re searching for each other); Reverse Match (They’re searching for someone like you); Online Now (Online and within a set distance from you). Three great ways to move your serach beyond the standard search functions.
Section 3
This area shows the profiles of four new members that are in your area, matching by city or postal/zip code. It also has a “search by username” in case in a chat you get someone’s name but maybe it’s a bit wrong, you can try to find somoen using this search function.
And there you have it, the main search features to help you meet other singles at Match.com

Good Karma: Dating Profile Headline of the Day
MondayYou know, looking back to yesterday and after I had finished work for the day I had a chore to do: pick up some groceries.
Simple enough, right? So I did it and made my way home.
But while I was there a woman, very snazzily dressed, was wondering up and down the aisles, we ccrossed paths several times. I did happen to glance into her shopping cart (often I’ll see something that I should also be picking up) and she had a couple of frozen dinners and two potatoes.
Now, I didn’t try to pick her up, even after having read the excellant advice from “The Conversation King“, I just went my merrily way home.
But, after seeing those very pitiful two potatos in this lady’s cart it made me think, on a Sunday afternoon where there’s no major sports playing, the grocery store was brimming with some very nice, obviously single, women.
So I have to come to this conclusion: everyone that is single should now do there grocery shopping between the hours of Sunday noon until 5:00pm and only in grocery stores that also have a coffee shop either inside, or next door to it.
Think of all the single people, sharing a Sunday dinner, after meeting while grocery shopping for that very meal. It’s what I like to call Karma.
So if you want some of this karma, then I know where you’ll be next Sunday afternoon, right?
And for your headline profile try this one (see if it get’s approved):
“I have good karma, I grocery shop Sunday afternoons.”
Have a great day!
Match.com March Marathon: Profiles
Day 6 of our Match March Marathon where we take a close look at the Match.com Personals dating service member features. Today we’re going to look at the “Profile” page you arrive at after clicking “Profile” on your member home page. The word “Profile” is in the same place on both pages so it’s easy to find (top right corner).
Moving across the page, from left to right, you will first see the main picture of your profile, and you can change the photo and add more photos to your profile from a link to the right.
Under your photo is a “Profile Help” link that invites you to have a professional profile editor work with you to bring the best of yourself to words. If you’re flummoxed about how to describe yourself to others, this might be an advanced (paid) feature you’ll want to take a second look at.
From this next right sction of this page you can view your main profile editor. This is the place to update the words that other people see first, like your headline. You can add photos and change your primary profile picture by clicking the “Add/Edit Photos” link, just a smidge more to the right.
You can see your profile as others will see it, three different ways: private view (your eyes only); public view (as others see it); in search results. Directly underneath that is your “Visibility” and you can selext to hide, or show your profile here.
The next link down allows you to be “Put me in the spotlight” (by clicking ‘consider me’), which is another free feature that gives your profile “feature” status, higher search placement and you may even show up on Match.com advertisements anywhere on the Internet. The long for this type of advanced visibility to long, so don’t be surprised if you don’t get picked. Alternatively you can click the “don’t consider me” to not be selected for this type of personal promotion.
The next link down (These links so far in one column, see picture below)is another repeated link from other pages and has already beed discussed, the “Like at first sight” quiz. Hey, got a minute? Take it again now.
The third “column” section starts off with “Review Your Matchwords?”, “Matchwords” are rather like “blog tags” single words that are used to describe yourself. These words that you choose are also shown with your main profile and you can easily add/delete words from this page.
Well, that is a very active page with a lot of important links to follow, visit it often and visit it more often with the intention of editing several areas if you’re not getting many messages or winks.
Join now and receive a 7 day free trial membership because these profile tips are only for members (free and premium).
