Dating in the News: Lovesick B.C. dentist flies to Ireland to find mystery woman
A lovesick B.C. dentist flew to Ireland this month to scour the emerald isle for a red-haired, freckled colleen he met while vacationing last year.
Dr. Sandy Crocker met the woman in a cafe in the tiny west coast town of Ennistymon, County Clare. The two chatted for only a few minutes before she disappeared into the Irish mists.
“She never left my mind, so I decided why not go back and try to find her,” he told the Clare People newspaper.
“Maybe it’s a shot in dark but if it is meant to be, if it’s fate, then I might bump into her walking down the street or in a shop somewhere.”
He describes the woman as in her mid- to late-20s, with reddish brown hair and freckles. The two met July 9, 2011, in the An Teach Bia cafe.
Apparently, British bookies are taking bets, with very long odds, of Dr. Crocker actually finding the woman he met for just a couple of minutes last year. UK bookmaker Ladbrokes set odds: 50:1 he marries her and 10:1 he finds another Irish lass to marry. The bookmaker figures “there’s a good chance” his dream girl is already married.
