You Made It! Dating Profile Headline of the Day

When you're ready toot your own horn!
Today, December 1st, marks the last few steps to the beginning of the “silly spending season” and beyond to 2012. I am pretty pleased to have made it this far with only losing 2 body parts (long story) and gaining a 2011 Red Dodge Challenger. No matter how tough a day is when I am sitting behind that steering wheel and punching that engine button, hearing those horses roar to life, it gives me satisfaction that I don’t get every day without it.
My writing career has stalled but my latest article (All I Want for Christmas is a New Girlfriend) has given me new life in my capabilities. I don’t generally go with the “New Year’s Resolution” gimmick. I believe that the force of change is within each of us and waiting for a specific time of year to start what should be a positive change in our lives is just silly. You know you should do it, so do it! By the end of the month you can then say “I made it!”
The biggest positive chnage you can make with your life is to share it with someone special. Make no doubt about it, without the love and support of someone special your life will never have the full meaning your life should have (past, future and present clergy excepted).
Wear that power tie, put on those sexy panties, slip into those plaid socks, you’re going to have a great day today and a tremendous life – just come back to read this blog daily for everything you need to know.
For your first headstart rewrite your headline into a power headline that will attract the type of person you want – no need – to have in your life:
“I do not back down from pressure but I will be the person that wants to be right for you!”
HAVE A GREAT DAY!
First One Down: Dating Profile Headline of the Day
Do you remember when the first of your friends got married? On that day you lost a friend and you gained a “married couple”. Or so we were told.
I remember losing a friend and getting in return a two-headed monster and one that wouldn’t come out to play to boot.
Then more friends got married, others “played house” and were also otherwise occupied when poker night came around.
You start with single being fun and after a while it becomes a disease.
Life offers you many turns over time. Keep that in mind as you continue on your path.
For your dating ad try this headline today:
“Do you agree that we cannot go on like this?”
Have a great day!

Online Dating Starter Kit: Match.com March Marathon
Match.com wants you to succeed in your dating adventure because when you’re happily dating the people you meet at Match.com, you become a believer in what online dating accomplishes for single people like you and at Match.com in particular.
Match.com has the technology and the experience (online since 1994) to make online dating work. But every “joiner” does not arrive at match.com with the same expectations. After all, we are all unique.

Online Dating Starter Kit
To help you get started with finding success with online dating (if you’re a first-timer or not having much success so far) there is an online presentation called “Online Dating Starter Kit” that is an online presentation and or as a downloadable pdf (from this link as well as on the match.com website) that takes you step-by-step through the online dating processes that will help you to create headlines and profile tips that will attract the type of person you seek.
You’ll need to sign in to this part of the Match.com website (maybe for the second time) but you can use your existing email and password, you don’t need to create a new account.
To find the FAQ and “Online Dating Starter Kit” you’ll need to head over to the “Help” section and search for “Online Dating Starter Kit”, then click on the answer link “What is the starter kit?”. I don’t know why such a goldmine of information is tucked away and hard to find, but there it is, now laid at your feet.
Remember, Match.com is the software, and no matter what, you are the result. You need to do your best to become an online dating success story and Match.com provides more opportunities than any other dating service to make that success happen, in my opinion.
ProfilePro: Match.com March Marathon
If you think of yourself as “less-than-perfect”, how well do you think you’d be able to write about yourself in a positive light?
Besides public speaking, one of the categories that is hardest to be talkative in is when you have to talk about yourself, share intimately your positives and minimalize your negatives and still come across as a nice, caring and loving person that someone else would want to meet.
Yes, describing yourself out loud is a very hard task for many people. Describing yourself to an anonymous and judgemental audiance can be “deer in the headlights” frightening.
This is where Match.com has you covered, they offer a professional writers service that can fine tune and offer some critical elements to your profile that will help others (people that have not yet met you) find a level of attraction in you by emphasizing your good qualities without being egotistic or self-involved beyond redemption and show you off in the best possible light. This is a great feature/service!

Match.com ProfilePro Feature
You do have to pay for this service and you’ll have an expert profile writer to review your existing profile, ask you some questions (if needed) and make the most of what you’ve told about yourself into a profile that becomes an interesting mini-bio about yourself that you would have written if only you knew how.
You don’t have to use the profile that is written for you but there isn’t a refund of the service cost if you decide not to. As well, you may be asked to have a better main profile picture of you made available for your updated profile and that could include Match.com suggesting professional photographer services to you, again at an additional fee.
Most people are anxious when they have to talk about themselves about their deepest desires and personality traits. It’s good to know that there is a professional waiting in the wings if you need help.
You don’t need to be a premium member (subscriber) to use this service, obviously you’ll receive the most attention and be able to communicate more with other members if you are a subscribing member of Match.com.
You can join here and receive a 7 day free trial premium membership today.
Who Has Seen You?: Match.com March Marathon
This is the tenth day of our Match.com March Marathon. We’ve taken a good look at the online dating service Match.com and a lot of the features that are offered there.

Who Has Seen Your Profile?
An interesting feature is this one that allows you to see who has visited your profile page called “Who’s Viewed Me”.
Now, this feature is sometimes offered free at online dating services but you do need to be a subscriber here. One way or another notifications that tell you who has visited your profile page is used as an incventive foir you to pay a membership fee, so Match.com isn’t out in left field asking you to pay for this priviledge and, of course, you receive all of the other premium member benefits too.
So if your curiosity is about to kill the cat, pay the fee and see who’s behind door number 1, 2 and maybe even 3.
Join here now and receive a 7 day free trial membership; this offer is only for new members only.
matchTalk: Match.com March Marathon
In this part of our Match.com March Marathon we’re going to take a closer look at a feature that is only available if you subscribe for it: matchTalk.
Match.com describes their matchTalk.com service like this:
Talk, but keep your phone number confidential with matchTalk. Along with our many subscriber benefits, you can now accept matchTalk requests absolutely free. Get these subscriber benefits:
• Send and receive emails
• See who’s viewed your profile
• Manage your connections
• Flirt instantly via Instant Messaging

matchTalk
What this feature is, in a nutshell, is anonymous phone calling. Your number and any other caller ID information is not passed along when you make a call to another member. You are given a special number to dial into using your regular (land-line or cell) phone from which you call the other member in your matchTalk phonebook.
Your private information is hidden by the system and it’s easy to stop someone from contacting you, all you have to do is remove their details from your matchTalk phonebook.
Anonymous phone calling services have been around for years and now come in a variety of formats and feature-sets. matchTalk used to be a fee-based service but now it’s available for free as an added feature to the premium subscriber membership.
Join now and receive a 7 day free trial membership because this feature is only for premium (subscribed) members.
Search Formats: Match.com March Marathon
Day 7 of our Match March Marathon and we’re going to take a look at the member search options you’ll be using.
Section 1
This is the basic search area usually prepopulated with the last search you did or your preference settings from your profile. Click “Search Now” and start browsing the results. As well, with this particular search feature there are some customizing you can do to the results, such as the appearance, interests, background/values, life style and optional keyword choices. What sems to be a simple search becomes an advanced search that very few other dating services could offer thier members.
Section 2
This area of search (found under “Section 1″) offers three additional search options: Mutual Match (You’re searching for each other); Reverse Match (They’re searching for someone like you); Online Now (Online and within a set distance from you). Three great ways to move your serach beyond the standard search functions.
Section 3
This area shows the profiles of four new members that are in your area, matching by city or postal/zip code. It also has a “search by username” in case in a chat you get someone’s name but maybe it’s a bit wrong, you can try to find somoen using this search function.
And there you have it, the main search features to help you meet other singles at Match.com

Match.com Profile Searches
Join now and receive a 7 day free trial membership because these search tips work best with premium membership features unlocked but still are for all members to use (free and premium).
Match.com March Marathon: Profiles
Day 6 of our Match March Marathon where we take a close look at the Match.com Personals dating service member features. Today we’re going to look at the “Profile” page you arrive at after clicking “Profile” on your member home page. The word “Profile” is in the same place on both pages so it’s easy to find (top right corner).
Moving across the page, from left to right, you will first see the main picture of your profile, and you can change the photo and add more photos to your profile from a link to the right.
Under your photo is a “Profile Help” link that invites you to have a professional profile editor work with you to bring the best of yourself to words. If you’re flummoxed about how to describe yourself to others, this might be an advanced (paid) feature you’ll want to take a second look at.
From this next right sction of this page you can view your main profile editor. This is the place to update the words that other people see first, like your headline. You can add photos and change your primary profile picture by clicking the “Add/Edit Photos” link, just a smidge more to the right.
You can see your profile as others will see it, three different ways: private view (your eyes only); public view (as others see it); in search results. Directly underneath that is your “Visibility” and you can selext to hide, or show your profile here.
The next link down allows you to be “Put me in the spotlight” (by clicking ‘consider me’), which is another free feature that gives your profile “feature” status, higher search placement and you may even show up on Match.com advertisements anywhere on the Internet. The long for this type of advanced visibility to long, so don’t be surprised if you don’t get picked. Alternatively you can click the “don’t consider me” to not be selected for this type of personal promotion.
The next link down (These links so far in one column, see picture below)is another repeated link from other pages and has already beed discussed, the “Like at first sight” quiz. Hey, got a minute? Take it again now.
The third “column” section starts off with “Review Your Matchwords?”, “Matchwords” are rather like “blog tags” single words that are used to describe yourself. These words that you choose are also shown with your main profile and you can easily add/delete words from this page.
Well, that is a very active page with a lot of important links to follow, visit it often and visit it more often with the intention of editing several areas if you’re not getting many messages or winks.
Join now and receive a 7 day free trial membership because these profile tips are only for members (free and premium).
Like At First Sight: Match.com March Marathon
Welcome to Day 5 of our Match.com Marathon where we closely examine all the features available to members.
In this part of our marathon we will be looking at the “Like At First Sight” feature.
“Like At First Sight” is a short, visual quiz that will help Match.com refine your preferences and be able to better match you up with people you’ll like. This helps to ttake some of the “randomness” out of the Match.com matching system.

Like At First Sight
In the quiz you’ll be asked a series of questions each having a multiple choice answer which is a picture of a body part that you are attracted to, this includes faces, hair styles, clothing styles and more.
You can take this quiz as many times as you like, but it is only the last test that refeines your preferences with any previous completions of the “Like At First Sight” preferences being eliminated.
“Like At First Sight” only takes a few minutes to complete and it’s a rather fun quiz where you’ll certainly learn a little about your own preferences towards others.
Take this quiz now at Match.com but join now and receive a 7 day free trial membership because this quiz is only for members (free and premium).
Have fun!
Match.com March Marathon
Day 4 of the Match.com March Marathon
Let’s dig deeper into your “Daily 5” feature. The menu on the left (see image below) tracks the important information related to this feature and your “Daily 5″ matche member profiles will be on the right.
The “Daily 5” is supposed to be up to five matches brought to your attention by being posted to your member home page that the Match.com matching system says are within the preferences you have set for a member matching the type of person you would like to meet.

Match.com March Marathon: Daily 5
The main idea is to match you with someone based on your preferences as well as refining your preferences by choosing one of the three options from the “Does she/he spark your interest?” question. Future Daily 5′s will be selected from this enhanced preference information. Select one of the answers and the next Daily 5 choice will be then displayed. Be warned though, answering “No” with any of the Daily 5 matches and that person is not going to be displayed to you again in any search results, Daily 5, or even when you browse the personal profiles.
The person that has been sent to you as a match is not sent your profile as a “Daily 5” match. This is a one-way match service, not to say that eventually this person won’t be sent your profile, it just doesn’t happen simutaneously.
When you are in another member’s “Daily Five” and if that person has expressed interest in you, you’ll get a notification in the “They’re Interested” Daily 5 menu area. This menu also keeps track of who you are interested in and your maybes.
Want to see your own “Daily 5″? Become a member at Match.com Join now and receive a 7 day free trial membership. Once you’ve completed your profile and the preferences of the person you’d like to meet within a couple of days your “Daily 5″ will begin to appear on your member page.
Match.com March Marathon
As a member of Match.com that hasn’t been a part of online atiung before, Match.com can be an overwhelming website.
Even as you login there are so many places to go and things to do. Keep in mind that most features are reserved for paying members, and even a free trial membership may not allow you to do everything that’s available.
But you have to start somewhere to meet someone, Match.com and it’s 7 day free trial is a good place to start.
On this third day of our Match.com March Marathon we’re going to take a closer look at the member home page, the page you land on after you log in. This is your “Action Center” where you’ll start every other thing you do at Match.com.

Match.com March Marathon
Section 1
Your inbox for message sis here, as well as information about winks sent and received (winks are little introduction messages you can send to other members, available to free and premium members), links to your visibility setting (whether other members can see your profile or not), and your account settings (which includes your personal information, membership status, contact options and information about everything Match.com needs you to know. You can also cancell your premium membership from a link on your account settings page).
Section 2
Quicklinks to a variety of membership features, some of these links are in other places on this page they are just more used when at the top of the page. Check your “Daily 5″ from this section and help Match.com refine your preferences by saying yes, no or maybe to the suggested members Match.com thinks you might want to meet.
Section 3
The “What’s New” and “Connections” tab at the center of the page keeps you up to date at a glance with information most vital to your experience at Match.com. Suggested matches are here as well as some features for premium members such as call requests (from “matchTalk” an anonymous phone service that you can use to call other members safely on) and a subscription reminder so you can have the “Connections” area upgraded to an even more active hub of your Match.com experience.
Section 4
The basic member search box to move you to quickly browsing members in your area and a link to the advance search box that tightens up your preferences of the members you’d like most to meet.
Section 5
This is the footer of the page where the business links and links to importan tinformation you may need to know. Links to other sites that are owned by the p;arent company of Match.com, IAC/InterActiveCorp, are also in this area.
Now you can easily navigate your member page after you log in at Match.com.
So isn’t it time to start your own membership at Match.com? Join now and receive a 7 day free trial membership.
Match.com March Marathon
Today, Day Two, we’re going to start with completing our profile.Every step in the Match.com profile has been carefully crafted to not only provide you a comfortable place to talk about yourself but also with enough tips and help that will inspire you to write well about yourself without being egotistic or seeming narcissistic.
If you follow along step-by-step, you will easily fall into step with Match.com and how to best use this popular dating service to your benefit.

About Me profile section
With the “About Me” section you’re asked to answer some questions by multiple choice, and other questions in essay form. Yes, I know, “essay form”, I bet you thought you left that behind a long time ago, right? This time you’re not trying for an “A+” you’re score is a date.
Your gender, the sex of the person you’re loking for, where you live and your astrological sign form the better part of “About Me – Basics”. When you’re done, about 20 seconds, click the “Send for approval” button.
During the profile completion steps you will be given two options: “Save and continue” and “Send for approval”. “Save and continue” means that you’re either done with the section or you’ll come back to answer the questions. “Send for approval” finalizes your answers (which can be changed later) and sends them to be approved by Match.com staff. This is a safeguard against not only spammers but also people that might be using the service for other nefarious reasons. Crime in online dating services isn’t rampant, but frauds do happen, more so (I believe) in free dating services because they don’t have the resources to check each profile for clarity and common sense, something that is often lacking at free dating services and with criminals too.
It is important to remember that whenever you edit, change or modify your profile you must “Send for approval” before it is again displayed for others to see. This is important to remember because, firstly, your profile is not available during this time, although communication is not stopped between people you’ve had contact with so far (unless they block you), and secondly, recently approved profiles appear closer to the top (first) just as profiles with pictures are shown before profiles without pictures.
While I do recommend regular updating to both your headline and your profile, you shouldn’t be doing this so often that your profile is almost always waiting for approval.
You should be able to complete the 6 sections of the “About Me” profile area in under 10 minutes. Take your time and be honest with yourself and those that will read your profile, because honesty counts.
When you’re done with this part of today’s Match.com Marathon click on the “search” button and take a look at some of the people waiting to meet you.
