Great Conversation Topics
This week had some great news and some great entertainment, here are the highlights for you, so you have some interesting topics to talk about this weekend.
- John Travolta’s Dogs Run Over At Airport. Yes, the Travolta’s face another untimely death in the family, two in fact. The dogs were being walked at Bangor International Airport when struck by an airport service vehicle. Freak accident indeed.
- Conan O’Brien shares his fave 5 youtube videos. You’ve got to see these five hilarious videos. Stay up-to-date with the comedian’s faves and you’ll certainly have something interesting to talk about.
- The Porsche!!! As only a teen can experience and a father can cry about… or is it the other way around? This is what happens when a teen crashes a $180,000.00 2010 Porsche Turbo.
Friday’s Conversation Topics
This Friday wraps up some great news stories that will help you with entertaining conversations with those you meet this weekend, even if all you do is click around to ChatRoulette.com.
I have to start this week’s news with one that affects us all: free speech in games versus protecting kids from graphic violence and suggestive sexual, often violent, depictions. While I don’t agree that the government has to babysit what we choose to watch I do agree that the standard should be higher to protect youth from violence, even if it is in movies or video/computer games.
- Supreme court will rule on violence in video games accessible to minors. Yes, someone has to define what is acceptable.
- Sandra Bullock files for divorce. So sad for Jesse James. Does this mean he’ll go back to making porn? And who’s going to get the lion’s share of the money, along with custody rights to a baby that isn’t either of theirs?
- Man eats 1,500 lightbulbs. Starting at age 12, Wang Xianjun, 54, of Sichuan Province has been eating lightbulbs. Not whole, of course, but in pieces. Regular doctor checkups show no adverse affects. His secret is being carefully monitored by the “Revolutionary Sex For Women” people… the relation escapes me.
- Man fined €14,000 for ‘ass-bombing pool’ in Germany. Not quite you think an ass-bomb is the equivalent to a cannonball jump into a pool… but this still qualifies for an interesting conversation topic, don’t you think?
Have a great weekend!
This Week’s Best Conversational News Stories

Time is running on!
Stay current, be interesting. Get prepared now by reading our conversation topic suggestions below.
- Is a robot or human better at kicking field goals? If you’ve ever been stumped by this question you now have the opportunity to find out the answer. This is good for a few great minutes of conversation and can lead to whole new areas of continuing the conversation too.
- Beware when you’re texting personal messages at work! If the place you work for and they supply you with a phone, they may have every right to “ckeck in” on what personal business you’re dealing with while on company property or using your employers electronics. For me it’s a no-brainer, they own it, they can do what they want, even if it means they are invading your privacy. Will the supreme court agree?
- ‘Balloon Boy’ dad to pay $36,000.00 restitution. I have to ask, is 36K enough of a deterrent to stop the next media-crazed individual to staging a news-worthy event for a media starved public? Time will tell. And you can keep up with today’s most popular video on this page.
- Craigslist Lovers. Henry Russell’s book, Craigslist Casual Encounters: The Hilarious and Disturbing World of Seeking Sex Online, is out listing some of the most freakish encounters that have been attempted to occur through the free classified site. Go ahead and read the article, you need a laugh about now anyways. Order your copy of the book here at Amazon.com
Have a great weekend!
Friday’s Conversation Topics
This Friday evening and weekend I want you to be well prepared for the conversations you will find yourself a part of.
Remember:
A woman that can contribute and lead conversations is a strong and attractive women.
The man that can keep up with the conversation and add exciting facts at appropriate moments becomes very interesting and exciting to the women that surround him.
So, this is your homework, read these selected articles and prepare yourself for some fun conversation this weekend!
- 13 year old boy will attempt to climb Mount Everest. Hell, I’d like to get out of my car without needing to catch my breath. But good for the kid, this effort will complete his goal of climbing mountains on all seven continents. Too bad he still has a couple of years to get to the top of “Mount Breast”.
- How women control men and influence people using Facebook. It’s about time someone stood up and told the truth about how women use social networking tools to maintain and control relationships online and offline. Of course, we also have to ask “Do online friends influence drinking habits“?
- Steven Seagal sued. Does he really own two Russian sex slaves? Full article at TMZ.com
- How not to use Craigslist.org. Woman posts ad “Come and get free stuff in the front yard” and people take most of the free stuff and thieves take the other stuff still inside the house, including fridge, stove, etc.
Friday’s Conversation Topics
I’d like to say that I don’t have much exciting news to share with you this week, and then your burden of reading, remembering and conversing about a wide range of topics would be lessened… but you’re not going to get out of this endevour that easily.
You need to know what’s going on so you can be the interesting person that we all know you want to be. So let’s get started, shall we?
- Easter is cancelled. More of just a picture than anything else, but we all have to start somewhere, right?
- Woman dressed as Easter bunny attacked… seriously, who knew this would be the second news item? My sense of humor, and the attacker, is still being searched for.
- Is an Apple iPad in your future? Not if you’re Jon Byron. Or other such odd, non-Apple-consumer-driven-robots like the millions that swear by their iPhone or iTouch, or Nano, etc… but still have yet to buy a real Apple computer (since the 1980′s). Hell, I can think of more than 20 reasons why I don’t want one. But I know that I’ll have one by latest being the second version to be released, probably in the summer. For that matter, anyone want to buy my used iPad? (Note: how to read comic books with your iPad video)
- Unpaid air hostesses strip in protest. From Rueters ‘Oddly Enough’ category. This article is complete with pictures and video. Curious enough to look yet? Yes, it is about women not getting paid by their employer so they get even by taking off their clothes and posing for a calendar. This never happens where I work. Never ever. The stripping part, not the getting paid on time part. At least the stripping by the women under 25. The old bats will take their clothes off at the drop of a dime. LOL
- Turn your hot tub into a time machine. No, not the funny, lame-assed movie, this is about the real deal! Read and get ready to travel anoytime, anywhere. Everyone except you physics majors, anyways.
Have a great weekend!
Friday’s Conversation Topics
This past week, like many others we have experienced in this young year, has been full of interesting and conversational stories. Read and remember, you’ll need to be up-to-date to be a part of some great conversations this weekend.
- Facebook can give you syphilis. Yes, sadly this is a true, weird story. Or a lame-assed grab at some headlines on a slow news day. But think about this, the more people can connect the more they can pass along an STD. Of course, social networking sites also allow for some very bad music becoming popular too.
- Full body scanner operator warned about sexual harassment. When these machines were being distributed in January on a mass scale, I made a bet that it would take two weeks before someone was brought up on such “peek-a-boo” charges. Sure, it took longer than I thought, but I was still found right.
- Cash falls out of armored car… and guess what? Lots of motorists stop, pick up bundles of cash and leave. The scary part is they may be fearful of spending their ‘windfall’ after a possible threat of being charged with grand theft is made by local police.
- You have to wonder when teachers pull this kind of crap. Teachers, as a science lesson, fake a shooting and teacher’s death to teach the 10 – 13 year olds hanging out in the schoolyard and ten minutes later call them inside to tell them it was all a joke. UGH.
- Bush wipes hand on Clinton’s shirt. Yes, complete with video.
Have a great weekend.
Friday’s Conversation Topics
The weekend is upon us again and you’ll need to talk all the way through it… again…Luckily for you I am here and so are you, we will work together, you and I, to share some great news stories from the past week that you can read and talk with the people you find yourself with in the days and hours to come.
After all, if you have nothing interesting to say then you are boring! And we don’t want to be boring, right?
Ok then, now that all that is settled, here are this week’s most interesting topics for you as selected by me:
- 10 stupid things you shouldn’t do with a camera around. I think the article title says it all (with photos, sfw).
- Meet the computer that can meet your mind. It was only a matter of time, right?
- War hero get’s reprimanded for managing the battle that he received a Silver Star of bravery for. This is when bad things get a lot worse for all people in uniform.
- Is latest Prius driver acceleration victim faking for a big payday? This background info casts a very big shadow on the whole episode. And is he really running a shadow life involving swinging and mysterious thefts?
- Sony introduces new PS3 motion controller. This really isn’t news, it’s a product press release. But it showed up in so many places that I am starting to wonder what really is news these days… here and here. Why did I even bother with this one? Good question.
- What do you do when you have a dead moose in your yard? First thing, get your puppy away from it. Second thing: Open up the Yellow Pages and find a “moose carcass removal service”. Sounds easy, right?
Have a great weekend!
Friday’s Conversation Topics
For the first bit of March it’s been a hell of a week. I mean, I couldn’t even make up some of the news I’m going to share with you today.
Have a good read and remember these topics when you need to start or jump into a conversation this weekend.
- Woman getting her vejayjay surgically altered shown on TV. Yeah, probably NSFW.
- Did you ever have a date like this? Woman found by police, in a rendevous, tied to a tree… naked, with her date.
- The Oscars are Sunday. Test your entertainment knowledge with this quiz.
- Chile’s earthquake causes shorter days. It’s not just the clock moving forward this Sunday, is it?
Have a great weekend!
Friday’s Conversation Topics
FridayI hope you have nig plans for tonight… it is Superbowl weekend after all, a lot of what happens tonight will determine where and with whom you see the game with on Sunday.
And to get that invite, that “game date” you need to be an interesting person with great conversation skills (remember, the best conversationalist listens more than talks!).
Here are some topics from this week’s past events to talk about and start your conversations easily with anyone you meet this weekend.
1. Has Michael Jackson’s doctor been arrested? This news blog seems to indicate so, or does it?
2. Haiti earthquake survivor get’s dinged on replacement iPhone. After surviving a fourth floor ride to the ground during the earthquake, survivor loses out on recently activated, and now crushed, iPhone until complaints get heard higher up.
3. Facebook launches games dashboard – as if that’s all we do, socialize while trying to get a bigger farm in Farmville or beating a high score in Bejeweled Blitz…LOL
4. Terrorists and subversives must register in South Carolina – under penalty of fine, imprisonment, or both. WTF?
5. Lender forecloses on homeless shelter – 700 homeless men are… homeless.
You just can’t make this stuff up!
Friday’s Conversation Topics
FridayFriday is here again, all rejoice! (And have a beer for me too!)
Today I have some very informative, and conversational, news items to share with you. Read them all and be ready with a sharp wit and a knowledgeable disposition.
- The missing lotter winner found? Not to throw comedy at tragedy but Mr. Abraham Shapkespeare might have been found buried under 5 feet of concrete. If you recall, Mr. Shakespeare’s lottery winning life started with a coworker saying that the winning ticket was stolen from him, his girlfriend (?) conned him out of an almost million dollar home and untold thousands of dollars and might just be the major suspect in the death, due to her activities of trying to get money out of bank accounts that were his well after he was declared missing and possible met with foul play. Overall this sounds like a real made-for-tv movie.
- Did Apple lay down the biggest boner ever with their new iPad? I think so. No multitasking (surfing and listening to music for instance), no HDMI connector and a host of other “not-haves” makes this a not have for me, at least until version 2 comes out.
- Did you read about the smart family that changed to natural gas instead of heating oil? Neither did their heating oil delivery company… family now living in hotel… SHAZAM!
- How about the girl that videoed the guy playing with his pet chicken (or maybe his gf) on the subway, all rolling around, hugging and kissing his chicken…. With video here. You just can’t make this stuff up!
- The myth of mispelt tattoos is a myth no longer. Complete with pictures! You might want to print some of these out to share at the bar, since they don’t have wifi there yet.
Have a great weekend!

Silverlight also, for those of you whose old computer cannot handle the 3D software (download may be required for both.)
2. Tiger Woods caught outside at sex rehab clinic… enough said.
3. Vancouver Winter Olympics could be snowless. Less than 3 weeks away and there’s little, if any, snow in the Winter Olympics venues. Officials take heat…lol…
4. All star “Hope for Haiti” Telethon at 8:00pm ET tonight. Boasts plenty of stars to help raise money for the relief effort for Haiti after devastating 7.0 earthquake.
5. Amazon “Kindle” to have apps store to compete against unreleased Apple tablet which is widely expected to be unveiled January 27.
Have a great weekend!
Friday’s Conversation Topics
Here you are, this week’s conversation topics from recent news.
Everyone loves a great conversationalist and recent news headlines are the right topics to share!
1. Blippy.com debuts. Share your purchases with the world, and your friends, and be the consummate consumer. Seriously, enter your credit card details, your debit card, and let Blippy post your purchases online for all the world to see. Seriously.
2. Tragedy in Haiti. Can you even fathom tens of thousands dead? Have you donated to the appeal for help?
3. China attacks Google and the world. Or something. Should we be concerned? Will the Internet ever be the place for a free, safe exchange of information, as it has always been hoped to be? Will software companies ever really be up to the challenge of keeping us safe?
4. Vancouver Olympics. Terrorist threats start to be taken seriously. But will there be snow? Weather experts aren’t so sure.
5. Need to carry a six-pack around with ease? This is the answer, with pic.
