Friday’s Conversation Topics

Every Friday I bring to you interesting headlines and stories for the past week, so you have something interesting to talk about tonight and this weekend.

Think of this as cramming for meeting people: if you have nothing to say you will not be noticed.

Read these stories carefully and completely, and remember to speak up!

- Large Hadron Collider Being Sabotaged from the Future. That’s right, scientists claim that the future is stopping this 27km circular collider from finding ‘the God particle’ otherwise known as ‘Higgs boson’. The scientists involved with the CERN project also repost many letters of hate and wishing them future. No postmarks of the letters have been revealed.

- Windows 7 – Love it, hate it, the latest OS is here. Read reviews on Amazon.com, CNET and if you haven’t installed your own copy form a great opionion based on these articles.
- The internet can keep your brain healthy. Between 55 and 78? This study shows that you can keep your brain activity higher by using the internet daily. The moral of the story? Keep active to stay healthy, even if it means just surfing and searching the web.
- Your pet is less eco-friendly than an SUV! This article is the result of a study about the resources it takes to keep a pet dog, cat, hamster and even a goldfish versus the resources and enviromentally friendliness of an SUV. You’ll be surprised by the results and a little happier if you drive an SUV.

Friday’s Conversation Topic Picks

Every week I pull together some great conversation topics from the flotson and jetsom of this wired web thingy. Read and remember these stories, there will be a test, hopefully conducted by a very attractive stranger that wants to hear you talk intelligently about some current events.

Hello there!

Hello there!

This is the best help I can offer, but it will get you going.

1) Ebay auction news: Name my baby Wouldn’t be that controversial if the ebay team had to pull the auction 4 times because they don’t actually offer auctions for sweepstakes, lotteries and prizes that may not be collected (what is the baby dies in childbirth?). I’d place a bid… but who needs another kid named “Rob”?

2) Foods that burn more than their fair share of fat: Fat Burning Foods start with almonds, eggs and a few more whose pictures are unfamiliar to me. But have variety of these foods in your newly changed diet plans and start slimimg down for fall.

3) How to tell a lie (and not getting caught). This particular topic is always a favorite. The lie is ready for your own personalization.

4) Back to school – a major event, one way or the other. Single mom’s and dads need help, this is a good way to “lend a hand” and possibly open the heart.

6) If you haven’t head about the Canadian squirrel, well, how was your vacation?

This is a good starting list for new conversations. Every Friday this post will be made to help you break the ice with someone new that you meet this weekend.
