Vancouver Winter Olympics 2010

Vancouver Winter Olympics 2010

Friday

Glorious Friday…. Even though I have to work today (and maybe you too) I will be thinking of not working, but of sitting my lazy ass in front of the television and watching the Vancouver Winter Olympics.

That will be my Friday and quite possibly the rest of the month too… broken up by just a little bit of work, here and there, but mostly watching the hockey, bob sledding, mogul-jumping and whatever other sport they will have available to watch.

So now that you know where I will be, where will you be?

Overly intoxicated by Olympic fever? Or something else.

If it is something else, today and this weekend, I suggest that you look at eharmony.com and check out the current “Free Communication Weekend” that ends on Sunday February 15, 2010. Go, join for free and exchange messages with your eharmony match.

And my headline suggestion for you today, whether you use it at eharmony or not, is this:
“Do you have Olympic fever? Let’s share a sport or two together!”

Have a great day!

Friday’s Conversation Topics

Here you are, this week’s conversation topics from recent news.

Everyone loves a great conversationalist and recent news headlines are the right topics to share!

1. Blippy.com debuts. Share your purchases with the world, and your friends, and be the consummate consumer. Seriously, enter your credit card details, your debit card, and let Blippy post your purchases online for all the world to see. Seriously.

2. Tragedy in Haiti. Can you even fathom tens of thousands dead? Have you donated to the appeal for help?

3. China attacks Google and the world. Or something. Should we be concerned? Will the Internet ever be the place for a free, safe exchange of information, as it has always been hoped to be? Will software companies ever really be up to the challenge of keeping us safe?

4. Vancouver Olympics. Terrorist threats start to be taken seriously. But will there be snow? Weather experts aren’t so sure.

5. Need to carry a six-pack around with ease? This is the answer, with pic.

Friday’s Conversation Topics

Our world really is an interesting place.

This week we’ve been shown what our ancestors might have looked like with the skeletal remains of a hominid that many evolutionary scientists belive is a link to our past. (Of course, I think they could’ve done much better over the 17 years they pieced together the skeleton.)

We’ve learned what it takes to win an Olympics and also what doesn’t work impressing the IOC. Rio de Janeiro won the opportunity announced today.

And we know that David Letterman won’t give in to blackmailers and extortionists.

And we’ve had the opportunity to find expression in the simplest things. See the news in pictures.

Of course, you know all this stuff already, that’s why these topics make such interesting conversation… because you’re prepared.

So go, read more and have something interesting to say tonight.
