Details of bad dating services you should NOT join
aLoveLinksPlus.com is all about meeting people!
And through our reviews and being a part of the Internet
community at large we have been exposed to some of the worst dating
services available online.
We will bear witness to complaints we have received; poor response
times at the services we have joined and/or having not received any
replies to our emails and queries for help; and numerous spam emails
promoting a service by pretending to be from another member in reply
to an email message we may (or may not!) have sent out (spam
advertising usually).
Have you been a victim of a badly managed, falsely advertised or plain, outright rip-off online dating introduction service?
Read Our "EXPOSED" Rules and Report Them!
You may also want to visit our "Delisted
Services" page. You will be able to read about services that
have lost their "aLoveLinksPlus.com Recommendation" as well as
services that have gone offline and possibly reasons why. We have
also become pro-active in exposing dating service SPAM. Read more
about this effort here.
We have found some online personals services that will misrepresent their services, their membership numbers, services that will take your membership money and not be around to reply to your email messages, not help you cancel your membership (and credit card payments) in a timely fashion, generally not fulfill the promises that appear on their front page, privacy policy, membership rules or online/offline advertising.
aLoveLinksPlus.com has long avoided sharing the web addresses and reporting unfavorable reviews of these web services by only listing services that we would recommend to our family members and single friends through our posted reviews. Until this time, you have not found any service posted at aLoveLinksPlus.com that we would not recommend you visit and join. The time for this to be changed is now.
aLoveLinksPlus.com can no longer be silent about the services that have been visited by us but do not have posted reviews and are not recommended by us but still manage to mislead and abuse their current and prospective customers/members. We have always accepted that some services available online are less than honorable, and we have not allowed them advertising space or a review to be posted at aLoveLinksPlus.com to help not give these businesses the visitors they so readily crave to rip off.
Now we will write about their practices and the complaints that we have received concerning how their service is operated and how they treat their members/customers.
This is a (hopefully not, but probably) growing area of aLoveLinksPlus.com, so bookmark this page and watch as we find more online personals and dating/introduction services to avoid.
Our visitors are invited to contact us here to have services they have joined (and been disappointed with) reviewed and possibly included in this category. All incidents will be reported to the service involved and if a solution cannot be reached, or maybe even if a solution has been reached, it will be made available in this section! We have rules that we will be following as well, they are written below.
THE SERVICE:
FunMatch.com
Original complaint January 24 2005.
Our email to them is waiting for a reply. The aLoveLinksPlus.com and affiliated websites received a deluge (more than 30) emails asking us to join their service. This sudden flood from a previously defunct dating service leads us to the conclusion that the new owners are devious and unbusiness-like.
THE COMPLAINT: An incredible amount of SPAM to previous members and possible business partners. Sample here.
Business practices such as these are no longer tolerated and no one should do business with such a company.
THE SERVICE: www.Soulmate.com
Original complaint October 6 2004.
Our email to them is waiting for a reply.
An online service that once showed promise, now is rife with unanswered complaints. We have yet to be able to make contact with the principals in this service or any of the management since all listed email addresses bounce.
THE COMPLAINT: We have received, at aLoveLinksPlus.com, complaints about the usefulness of the service, billing problems and unanswered customer service complaints.
As of October 7 2004 we are waiting for a reply and answers to our questions and forwarded complaints about the Soulmate.com dating service.
THE SERVICE:
www.Stop-Scammers.com
Original SPAM email received February 6 2003.
Our email to them is below, we are currently waiting for a reply.
A service that allows dating services to show the Stop-Scammers logo in an effort to show themselves a trustworthy dating/introduction service to deal with.
THE COMPLAINT: We have received, at aLoveLinksPlus.com, several spam emails from this company asking us to add their logo to our site. Upon looking at their site, although they do offer some reporting areas, it is evident that they do not police the sites that add the Stop-Scammers logo to their service. Essentially, by placing the Stop-Scammers logo on their site the service is promising to self-police their business activities. What is there to stop any dating service that plans to rip off customers from using the Stop-Scammers logo to trick yet many more potential customers into making purchases from them? Nothing. Stop-Scammers does not offer any performance guarantees, punishments, nor does it have any legal authority to deal with services that do rip off people.
This is the copy of the email we received that has begun the complaint
and investigation into the practices of Stop-Scammers.com:

This is our reply to them:
Hello,
I find it interesting that you are not proactive in your search for scam
sites. You conduct no research into their conduct or otherwise due
diligence. Your whole effect is simply that the site place your logo on
their site and "self-police" themselves with the threat of being revealed
to be a scam site should someone actually complain directly to you. What
is there to stop a untrustworthy site from joining your program? What
steps will you take should such a service that has your link be accused of
being a scamming or rip-off service? Do you offer any performance
guarantees for the sites that have your logo?
Can you tell me why this is?
As well, why did you spam me with your invite? As proof of the spam I
received, below is the email header information:
