JDate offers what Jewish singles want in a service: a very well thought-out profile for you to complete when you join, a fast search feature that allows you to find someone in your country and phone number area code (in areas that this information is available) and, best of all, free membership that gets your profile in front of thousands of other members. The majority of members are in America, but a quick glance at the home page will show you some interesting membership numbers by selected countries. You have many options with the personal information that you make available to others, such as hiding your profile, hiding your photo from non-members (you can include up to 5 pictures!), and you can pick and choose what information you answer in your profile as well. WHAT WE FOUND: Joining JLove.com is a fast process starting you off with only the basic information needed to be added to your profile. But to make the service work for you, you need to complete the advanced section of your profile first, the partner preferences section, before trying to contact other members. So, once you have received your verification email you can proceed to complete your profile and start sending “Icebreakers” to members that interest you that are within your preferences for contacting members. If you receive a message saying that you cannot contact a certain member you’ll have to update your compatibility preferences to be sure that they are within the choices you have made. It’s a little cumbersome but this helps you to focus on the members that really are similar to your desired match. We like the information provided by the member profile pages including that a member is online, where they are located and more information in the profile (when completed by the member) than most other services allow you to see. On your own personal profile page we like the links that allow you to browse new members profiles as well as a separate link that will shoe you new members that are in your area and other interactions such as who has sent you messages, Icebreakers, and even viewed your profile. You have control over the availability of your profile so if you want to take a break from the mass of messages you receive you can simply hide your profile.
