Honesty In Personal Ads Survey

We've all heard of the stories of a girl going to meet a guy and he's shorter, uglier, married, or a thousand other things that he lied about in his online personal ad. The same goes for guys reporting about the girls they've met: she used her high school picture in her ad and she's now 28 and 100lbs heavier, she used a model's picture, not her own, etc. But are these "Old wive's tales" or are they a fact of life for people that date online?
