WHAT WE FOUND: I like free services and I like AnimalAttraction.com. A friendly place where you can showcase your love of animals. Becoming a member is free and there are no fees involved to create your pet page, add information about yourself to your profile, include pictures and videos too. I had a little trouble signing up however. It seems that, using a Canadian postal code, a space is required between the 6 letter/number combination (F1F 1F1, not F1F1F1) but there isn’t an error page or notification that tells you this, if you make an error signing up in the first step, you’re left to figure that out on your own. But I did make it through to the second step. Choosing why you’re at AnimalAttraction.com: Find “Pet Pals”, networking and having a blog for you and your pet(s), to make friends and lastly, whether you’re here to meet and date other members. Have a picture ready to upload, you’ll want to complete this step! Then you’ll have a page to talk about your pets, the ones you said you have when you completed the first step, this is nice and a little weird, putting pet profiles before the people profile. You’ll want to have some pet pictures ready to upload and you’ve got to complete the pet info that is required before you can move on to the last step which is opening your email and following the instructions you receive to activate your account. When you’re done it’s time for some fun. Complete your profile by starting your blog and telling others why you’re here. Your blog and the “scratch pad” are the only areas where you can put up information about yourself. Pet areas are to talk about pets. Continue browsing the photos and videos of other members. Remember, this is a free service so you can contact any member that you want to message and meet, or just share pet stories. The layout of available features are easy to find from your home page. Searching for people to talk to is easy, fast and produces good results. There are thousands of members from all over the world but most are American and Canadian. It didn’t take long before I was invited to be “Pet Buddies” with a lot of members, this tells me that the site is active, the members are friendly. And I have a lot of fun being a member. If you have a pet and want to take your animal online with you, this is the place to be. The search for members does not define sexuality (straight, gay, whatever) and there is no married/single options either so if you’re a member to find another pet owner to date, make sure you search for only other dating members and be up front about showing dating interest. The chat room seems more active at night that the day time, but be sure to stop in and say hello to anyone there.
