At The Pool: Meet Online, Play Offline
What They Say: Join pools, Splash activities, Meet offline.
We're a scrappy group of engineers, designers, and visionaries working tirelessly to bring humanity back to the web. We believe in the power of personal interaction and smart software to bring about new relationships, new experiences, and new inspirations in the real world.
What We Found: A well planned service that helps you to go beyond the awkward online conversations to actually doing something with someone that shares real world interests with you. We like AtThePool for helping us plan that first meeting so effectively.
What You'll Find: Join by logging in with your Facebook account. We're not keen on that because it opens you up to monitoring your Facebook page that much more, so make sure you understand the privacy implications. You will select a separate password so that your information is within the AtThePool service.
Once you are logged in begin setting up your account profile by answering a few questions that include 3 or more things you like to do. Don't try to impress, be honest because these are the activities you'll share to meet people.
The third step you may want to skip unless you have a lot of Facebook friends that do share your interests and you don't mind asking them through At The Pool to do something together. Once you're passed this step you're ready to Splash and join some pools. But it's better you go ahead and complete your profile and then go to the settings page so you can set the information that's most important to you before you start matching up in activities with others.
Be sure to view your profile to make sure the personal information you are sharing contained in your Facebook profile is properly shown, and up-to-date, in your At The Pool profile.
You will want to be active At The Pool so that you can be more active offline, which is what At The Pool is all about.
