Quick sign-up, easy to use, nice service
I like this service. There isn't much special about it, it doesn't have a thousand features that take forever to figure out, it's just a simple and easy to use match service. Great for chatting and browsing profiles. But unless you upgrade to a premium membership the thrill of the AYI.com dating adventure will wear off quickly.
Signup with your email or with your Facebook account. Connecting with Facebook adds immediate profile information to your profile and allows you to connect to ayi.com through other devices when you use Facebook.
Right away you'll see photos of singles and can click if you like them or aren't interested. To change the areas and age ranges click on the "Filters" link then you'll see more of the people in your area, in your age range.
Editing your profile and adding pictures will take about 15 minutes. I didn't notice any outstanding or awkward questions so the profile task will be a breeze to complete.
Be certain to check the "Email Notifications" area and deselect the ones you don't want to be sent or you could end up with a lot of emails coming o your inbox.
"Control Who Sees You" is a good idea to limit the browsers of your profile to those you might actually go and meet and maybe date
To the right of the "Upgrade" button you have access to complete yor profile. It would be nice if that stood out a little more or maybe an intoduction about using ayi.com, but that's why you're reading this anyways.
Upgrading unlocks all the messaging and profile features, as a free member all you can do is browse members and chat with people that are online when you are. If you want to read messages sent to you, or have messages be able to be read that you send to a free member, you need to be a premium member.
Icebreakers - pick a question that get's sent out to people you may like, a nice automated introduction for you. Sending out an icebreaker also unlocks the "Viewed Me" feature, so give it a go.
Overall a good site to click through a bunch of profiles, maybe send out some messages. There's a big tie-in with Match.com and OurTime.com (all owned by the same company) so expect encouragement to visit these sites for even better matchmaking opportunties.
I like ayi.com, what it lacks in substance it gains with ease of use and a simple, uncluttered layout.
You might like it too.
