WHAT WE FOUND: Free to join and use special features like instant messenger, video greeting, voice greeting and live chat, but you need a paid subscription to contact members. You can post 1 profile photo and up to 6 private photos. Memberships are $3.95 for a 3 day trial, $24.95 for 1 month, $49.95 for 3 months and $79.95 for 6 months. You can reply to instant messages and emails but in order to initiate contact you must pay for a subscription. If you are married, or involved, the site will recommend that you visit another site of theirs. Registering is quick and there is lots of optional information to fill out. Your profile account is nicely laid out. You can edit your profile from there, view your account, Message Alerts, find out how many people are chatting and under what category (Male, Female, Couples, Gay Male, Gale Female), My Matches, Saved Searches, My Black Book, Block List, Recently On, Change Your Mood, view the Featured Member Gallery, and your horoscope. You can even see how many times your profile has been viewed and by whom. Profiles are set up nicely. You can find out the last time a member had logged in. Also, an X will be placed beside each section that doesn’t match your criteria and a check mark beside those that do. You can check out their compatibility percentage with yours, horoscope sign, online status, and quick links to send them emails, video mail, add them to your Black Book, block and Play Matchmaker. The only problem we found is that when we did a search, there are lots and lots of profiles without pictures. And many, also, with profile details that haven’t been verified yet. We’d predict that at least 75% of profiles had not been verified and/or had no photo. They offer two types of searches. A Quick Search and an Advanced Search. Datopia also provides two other sections. You can rate random profile pics and you can also get dating advice.

Only downfall is high percentage of members without verified profile details and/or photos.
