WHAT WE FOUND: FunMatch is an exciting new approach to online dating. Signing up takes only a moment and then you are joined, ready to search for other members and complete your profile. Like most dating sites members who sign up for free can create a profile, answer questions about their personality and post a photo. We really like the search feature which can be done by zip code (for American members) and a match feature which will email members of potential new matches. What makes FunMatch unique and exciting is the dropdown messaging system which allows members to contact each other with pre-scripted dropdown messages. With this dropdown messaging, non-paid members may contact someone they are interested in without paying a subscription price. This system makes FunMatch unique by allowing members to communicate easily without having to write an email to a stranger. For example, one dropdown message would say "I am new to this area and looking to meet new Friends." Free members can send this type of message for free as often as they like. Premium members can send unlimited emails to as many members as they like without the free member pre-scripted email restrictions. Public chat rooms and Twenty-four hour technical support are also available to paid members only. We found the messaging center easy to use and really liked the statistic of how many other members are online at the same time.
