WHAT WE FOUND: This is a really interesting concept for a web service. I like the fun of meeting people and even more, meeting people that look like me. The signup is fast and easy and they’ve made it easy to upload the photos you need (and the directions to do it) to find your twin. You’ll want to be sure to have a full face, large picture of only your face ( about 800x600 pixels is best) because without a suitable picture for the face recognition system to work you’ll be out of luck as far as continuing, or even beginning, your membership. It takes patience… a lot, if you’re not prepared with the right picture type (jpg jpeg seems best and use the highest resolution setting in your digital camera!). The photo upload and crop feature seems to only look in Internet Explorer, but I could be wrong. It certainly did not work with Firefox 3 (also in beta). The navigation of the web site isn’t very well designed, it’s hard to know if you’re logged in or even which section of the site you’re on. The messaging system is either through your own blog, via anonymous email in that messages are forwarded to the email address you signed up with, an by posting on the forums. Once, and if, you get past the photo upload step, you’ll need to complete the various sections of your profile. Watch closely, for some reasons when you visit different areas of the website pages open in a new window. I don’t know why. The search and find member features are quite basic and, because of the low number of members during this beta (testing) stage not great results are given. I have doubts about the terms and conditions that you have to agree to join. Read them yourself before you join and make up your own mind if you agree to these types of limitations. So much for a free World Wide Web. I would have only expected this type of strict restrictions from a Chinese government website. I’d wait for improvements unless you really want to see who looks like you now.

WHAT YOU'LL FIND: An entertaining website that is currently free to join (this may change, check website for membership costs). Fast membership and easy to use. More of a game/search/community website than anything else. Needs some work but it is in testing so expect what you pay for.
