October 2008 - site offline permanently WHAT THEY SAY: The UsearchLocal.com service is a way for adults to meet each other online. Did you know It takes less than 30 seconds to join UsearchLocal.com and start meeting singles in your area. WHAT WE FOUND: Free trial membership. Sign up is quick and easy. Free to post photos. Message notification to your home email. One-to-one match notification is also sent to your email. When you login you are sent to a page with a list of profiles of people near your local who are online. Membership rates are $24.95 for 1 month, $19.95 per month for a 3 month plan, and $7.49 per month for a 12 month plan. With paid membership, your profile gets placed at the top of search results and online as a featured member. You will also receive a higher match priority, send emails to all members and have them respond to you without them having to pay, and receive priority telephone and photo support. Profiles are very simplistic. Depending on how many questions a person has answered and if they decide to put up a description of who they are and what type of person they are looking for, there isn’t too much information to find about a member on their profile. You have the option of flirting with them for free, sending them an email or saving that contact. You can’t even tell what their marital status is. Searches are done by either region, by country and state, or by screen name. Once you have chosen either region or area, you will then be sent to a page of profiles in that region or area. There is no search with specific criteria, such as age or description. When we did the search for someone in or around our area, we got a list of member results from all over the U.S. None from Canada were listed until we reached page 5. We even did a search for Germany and our results came up with members from the U.S. You can find out who has viewed your profile by going to the Interests section. You can also see a list of members who are online in your area by clicking on the Online section. WHAT YOU'LL FIND: Free to sign up, do searches and flirt. Must be a paid member for top priority placement and to be able to send and reply to emails. Search is a bit buggy and not very in-depth. Can only do search by region, area or member name. Profiles are basic and doesn’t contain a lot of information. Only interaction with other members is through message or flirt.
